Kogi State Government  Flag Off  administring  Of  Free  Drugs  to  Flood  victims In  Nine   LGA’S

Flood victims in Kogi State will now heave a sign relief as Governor  Yahaya Bello on Friday flagged off the delivery of drugs worth millions of naira to the nine affected Local Government Areas in the State at Koton Karfe in Kogi Local Government Area.
The Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Ohere represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Usman Dan Victor,  flagged off the administration of drugs, various medical tests and consultation services to the victims of the flood at St. Pius Primary School, Koton-Karfe.
In a statement signed by Akpata Jordan Alaba,
Director Public Relations/Grassroots Sensitization said   Governor Bello is much concerned on the wellbeing of the internally displaced persons (ID P’s).
Engr. Victor expressed sympathy with the flood victims especially as they have lost their homes and farm lands. He noted that Governor Bello will continue to improve on the health delivery system of the State in order to meet the health needs of the people.
While  applauding  the efforts of the twenty one Local Government Areas for putting their resources together in purchasing the drugs for the flood victims, the Permanent Secretary also thanked the donor agencies for coming to the aid of the flood victims.
The Leader of the Medical team, Dr. Gabriel Enefu said that they will travel to the affected nine Local Government Areas to deliver free drug and medical check up to the flood victims.
He said they will provide water treatment drugs, treated mosquito nets and various drugs to the flood victims.
Dr. Enefu appealed to the flood victims to be patient with the medical team as they will be treated free of charge by the State Government.
In his remark, the Administrator of Kogi Local Government Area, Barr. Muhammed Tanko thanked the State Government for providing the drugs for the flood victims,and  assured Governor Bello of Kogi peoples support at all time.
Earlier the Medical team paid a courtesy call on the Ohimege of Koton-Karfe, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto to solicit his support for the flag-off of the programme in Koton-Karfe.
Alhaji Isah Koto thanked Kogi State Government for flagging off the programme in his domain.
Some of the flood victims, Mallam Muhammed Adamu, Inuwa Ali and Rabi Seidu thanked the State Government for attending to their health needs, assuring  the State Government of the support of Koton-Karfe people at all times.
The Administrator of Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Siru Lawal said the flag off of the free medical treatment to the flood victims is timely and  assured Governor Bello of his peoples support at all times.
