Ohikere laud President Buhari over people oriented projects, urge Nigerians to re-elect him 



National Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress,  (APC) Broom Platform, Dr Tom Ohikere,  has commended the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration over the various critical infrastructural projects executed in Nasarawa State.
Ohikere, a former two commissioner of information in Kogi and a founding member of the ruling party who led the platform on a three days media tour of the state from Tuesday, said the various projects being executed by the APC-led government are of direct bearing on the lives and well-being of Nigerians.
He explained that the media tour was to ascertain existence of such projects, their level of completion as well as impact on the lives of the people.
Ohikere noted that the power, housing and road projects, among others being executed by the APC led government in the state would change the fortunes of the people.
 The team which visited the various Federal and State projects in the state.also commended Gov. Umaru Al-Makura for his administration’s giant strides in infrastructure development, especially the road network in Lafia.
At the ongoing construction of the 330/132/33KV power substation in Lafia under the Federal Government’s National Integrated Power Project (NIPP), Ohikere said the project, which began in 2017, had reached 45 per cent completion.
He said the project, scheduled to be completed within the next five months, would address the problem of inadequate power supply in Lafia and environs, thereby boosting the economy of the area and providing power supply for Nasarawa state.
He said that the substation to be fed from the Azura power station in Edo through Makurdi, would also serve as a back-up to Abuja and environs, when completed.
The team also visited the federal housing project at Akurba, near Lafia; 100 unit housing estate by the Federal Mortgage Bank at Kwandere; as well as the new Police Command and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) headquarters built by the Al-Makura administration.
On the ongoing construction of the Cargo Airport at Kwandere, Ohikere said it would open up the state as the economic hub of the North-central.
He added that it would also boost the fortune of farmers in the state, who would be exposed to the international market.
The team was also at the Lafia Special Comprehensive School for the physically challenged children in the state and beyond.
According to Ohikere, the school project is one of the legacy projects of the administration and a demonstration of inclusiveness being championed by the APC-led administration in the state.
He said it would go a long way in given a new lease of life to the physically challenged children as an empowerment programme and bringing out the best in them to realise their dreams.
The team also visited the model specialist hospital in Akwanga where they confirmed the completion of the structural and basic utility needs of the new health facility. This was followed with inspection of the federal roads connecting Akwanga to the Federal Capital Territory and Plateau state. The team noted the commendable effort of FERMA in the zone.
The Nasarawa visits is expected to be rounded  up on Thursday 6th December, 2018, with  Ohikere urging  the people of Nasarawa and Nigerians to support the APC -led administration to take the country to the next level in all ramifications.
