Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has called on the newly elected members of the National Assembly from Kogi State to make the interest of their constituencies a priority when they resume their duties as legislators in the 9th Assembly.
The Governor stated this on Thursday in Abuja while receiving the elected members of 9th Assembly from the State who paid him a courtesy visit after receiving their certificates of return.
In a statement signed by Onogwu Muhammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bello maintained that the people of the State at various levels have conferred on them the right to legislate on their behalf and represent their interest at both the upper and lower chamber of the National Assembly
Governor Bello noted that such trust should motivate them to attract development projects to their respective constituencies and also ensure quality representation of their people.
The Governor similarly advised that they all partner with the State as progressive collaborators so as to jointly move the state further towards the direction of good governance and progress.
Earlier in their separate messages, Senator-elect, Jibrin Isah Echocho; Kogi East and Yusuf Oseni Kogi Central thanked the governor for standing by the candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded elections while declaring their support to the government.
Recalled that two senators, out of 3 and seven House Of Representatives members out of nine were elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress into the National Assembly from Kogi State
