Salaries: you have kept your words labour tells  Governor Yahaya  Bello, urge President Buhari  to release balance of bailout fund

The organize Labour in Kogi State has commended  Governor Yahaya Bello on the commencement of table payment of four  months salaries to civil servants in the state.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, ( NLC), Comrade Onuh Edoka gave the commendation on Monday in Lokoja  during the inauguration of the Committee saddled with the responsibility of ensuring effective, transparent, and accountable payment of salaries and arrears in the State by the Governor.
Edoka noted that  the Governor has kept to his words by keeping to  the agreement reached by government and the union to offset salary arrears with the latest tranch of the Paris club refund.
“The table payment is part of moves aimed at sanitizing the payroll of the state and we are fully in support of it. We believe that this exercise will finally put to rest all the discrepancies associated with the payment system in the state”.
The Chairman  who expressed satisfaction over the Governor’s dedication to the civil service reform and the transparency of the New Direction administration with  regards to the wage bill of the State,  called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release the balance of the 30 billion Naira Bail Out fund to Kogi State to enable the government clear other entitlements of workers.
He pledged the readiness of labour to give all the needed support to the Government in securing the fund.
