The above multi million naira question is on lips of Kogi central people after they had freely given their mandate to Dr oseni Yakubu to take his seat at the red chamber of the 9th national assembly in the next dispensation .
Yes, Dr oseni is highly and eminently worthy of the mandate, given his antecedents and rich profile at a relatively youthful age of 44 years.
Recall that he was a seasoned banker, tax administrator and social mobilizer of great repute. He came into the election with sound academic qualifications with a first degree in economics from the prestigious ahmadu Bello university, Zaria,a master,s in economics from University of Abuja and a PhD in credit management from manchester city University,United kingdom .
He was the only candidate in the Saturdays election with a realistic and workable manifesto and other campaign promises that was easy to sell to the electorates, who enventually gave him their overwhellming votes freely in a free, fair and credible election as attested to by observers and other stakeholders .
Viewed against this backdrop, therefore, the nagging question is that what will the senator elect,do with his mandate? He told Journalists yesterday that he would spend his tenure to implement his manifesto and other campaign promises to a logical conclusion in the years ahead .
His five points agenda include the provision of portable water across Kogi central, education, jobs creation, youths and women empowerment and the provision of SME opportunities for enterprising youth and women in the area . Alhaji oseni hinted that he will consider the sponsorship of a bill on child abuse as a legislative priority.
According to the senator elect, his tenure in office would be very robust, effective and result oriented as he would work round the clock to deliver democracy dividends to his people. Dr oseni further promise to synergize with other Kogi senators and the state government to ensure the resuscitation of the moribund Ajaoukuta steel complex and attract more federal projects to Kogi central.
In conclusion, the Senator elect says he would not take his mandate for granted as he intends to justify the people,s confident reposed in him
