A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime has congratulated the state governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia on his victory at the tribunal where his election in the gubernatorial poll held on March 18, 2023 was upheld.
Delivering the unanimous verdict of the three-man panel affirming Alia’s election in Makurdi, Chairman of the Benue State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Justice Ibrahim Karaye, held that the tribunal lacked jurisdiction to entertain pre-election matters raised by the petitioners, Titus Uba and PDP.
In a congratulatory message to the governor, Jime, an erstwhile Speaker of Benue Assembly and ex-member of House of Representatives, said with the tribunal ruling,the will of Benue citizens have been reaffirmed.
“Congratulations to His Excellency Gov Hyacinth Alia. The Judgment is a reaffirmation of the will of the people of Benue State. He must be gracious in victory. Now he must focus on delivering qualitative and purposeful leadership and in doing so must carry all Benue citizens along in an all inclusive and equitable manner as to engender faith and a sense of renewal in our people that better days are ahead”, Jime who is the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) said.
