A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is also an ally of Kogi APC governorship candidate, Comrade Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege (Fancy) has said he is convinced that unity and development of the Confluence State is the major driving force of the generality of the people across the three senatorial districts.
Comrade Fancy stated this today in Lokoja while reacting to the recent influx of members of the opposition parties and overwhelming success of the flag-off ceremony of Kogi APC Governorship Campaign activities, adding that the mammoth crowd that thronged into the venue of the programme that was held at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre and the recent Kabba Zonal Rally were an indication of victorious outing for his party.
According to him, it is only unity of purpose towards the issue of development of Kogi State that could make people turn out in that number for the programme on short notice.
“What I saw during the flag off was a resolute expression of the people of Kogi State to sustain the current tempo of development beyond the New Direction administration through Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu (JOS).
“Kogi State has made an unequivocal statement about the forthcoming governorship election and I must appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who through his Vice, Senator Kashim Shetima made a categorical statement about his commitment to spur the APC to victory,” he stated.
Comrade Fancy specifically commended the APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje; Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule; Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazak and the Director-General of Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu for their resilience and support for the quest to consolidate on the gains of the current administration in the state.
“My Principal, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman has remained unwavering and decisive in evolving workable modalities to further deepen the development of Kogi State. I am optimistic that the necessary foundation that has been laid by Governor Yahaya Bello would serve as a firm springboard for the incoming government of Alhaji Ododo when he assumes office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State through the grace of God,” he stressed.
He implored the people to be more committed to the course of electing Alhaji Ododo, noting that getting Kogi State dislocated from the government at the center would have dire effects on the resuscitation of Ajaokuta Steel Complex and other critical infrastructures and general development of the state.
