The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Dr. Patrick Abba Moro, has said that those whose lives were cut short in the brutal attack unleashed by the armed robbers on some commercial banks in Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State, last Friday, will not die in vain.
The heavily armed dare-devil robbers had stormed Otukpo in their numbers and robbed the banks most of which are reportedly situated close to the Divisional Police Headquarters of the area, killing about ten persons including three police officers and leaving many injured.
The senator who had condemned the sad incident in its totality, called for intelligence gathering to prevent such ugly occurrence in the future when he paid a condolence visit to the Police Area Command, Otukpo which was not spared of the attack.
Moro was reported to have pledged to provide furniture for the station and repair the section of the ceiling damaged by armed robbers, while condoling with the Nigeria Police Force and families of the officers injured and killed during the attack.
He stressed the need for all citizens to be security conscious and reports suspected movements to law enforcement agents.
The Benue South Senator equally paid a condolence visit to the family of late Hon. George Uloko in Otukpo, said to be the PDP Township Ward 1 Chairman, who was one of the victims of the Otukpo robbery attack.
Moro said he was saddened by the demise of Hon. Uloko while sympathizing with the widow and urging her to be strong for herself and the children.
He assured that everything would be done to bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to book.
