Ahead of Saturday, November 11 governorship election in Kogi State, all political gladiators in Eika-Ohizenyi of Okehi Local Government Area have have fully mobilized to ensure a resounding victory for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and his Deputy, Oyibo Joel.
The decision was reached today following a successful mini-rally held at the behest of Alhaji Mourktar Atimah, a prominent grassroot politician who commands a cult followers in the axis of the Local Government Area.
Joined by Governor Yahaya Bello’s wife, Hajjiya Hafisat Bello; former Kogi State Majority Leader, Hon. Mourktar Bajeh and other political leaders of Eika extraction, Alhaji Mourktar who emphasized that it’s high time all political grievances are resolved for the common good of Eika, Kogi Central and the entire state vowed to completely deliver his domain to the governing All Progressives Congress on Saturday.
Corroborating Alhaji Mourktar’s stance on the need to approach the Kogi State Governorship election with unity of purpose, Hajjiya Hafisat Bello who scored her husband’s administration very high on infrastructural revamping, youths and women inclusiveness, security and educational development, said the firm foundation laid by the New Direction administration would be sustained by the incoming administration of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your patriotic support for my husband over the years. It has been a wonderful administration with verifiable achievements across the three Senatorial Districts of the state. However, the time has come for us to make a wise choice of successor that will not take us back to the dark old days.
“It is on this note that I implore you all to massively mobilise and vote for Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman this coming Saturday. Alhaji Ododo is not coming to learn on the job. He has the experience and qualifications to move the state to the next phase of greater development,” she said.
The Convener of Hajia Onize Connect (HOC) for Ododo/Joel and wife of Comrade Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege (Fancy), an ally of APC Governorship candidate, Hajia Yakubu Onize urged the youths to shun all attempts by the opposition to provoke them into fomenting troubles that could jeopardize peaceful conduct of the Saturday election.
Hajia Onize further enjoined women and youths to jealously guide their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) which she described as potent instrument required to seal the impending victory of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman on Saturday.
While predicting easy victory for the APC in Eika-Ohizenyi axis and Okehi LGA in general, Hajia Onize commended Alhaji Mourktar who she referred to as the only erstwhile notable opposition figure for joining forces with the APC to ensure consolidation and continuity through Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman.
In their separate remarks, Former Majority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Mourktar Bajeh; Hon. King Habib; Hon. Abdulkareem Ajoge, Hon. Abdullahi and several other speakers at the rally promised to heighten their grassroot mobilisation and engagements ahead of the election.
They added that the APC under the able leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello has exemplified purposeful governance that needs to be consolidated for the sustained development of the state.
