The Director General, Hajiya Aminat Daniya, has congratulated Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on his emergence as the Governor of Kogi State at the November 11th Governorship Election in the Confluence State.
Hajiya Aminat in a Congratulatory Message in Lokoja, explained that she was overwhelmed with joy that Ododo clinched the Number One Seat of the State, expressing optimism that he will live up to expectations in the discharge of his responsibilities.
She pointed out that Ododo, being a renowned Professional, will bring his wealth of experience to bear when Sworn-in as the Governor of the State on 27th January 2024.
She promised to collaborate with the Governor-Elect for the progress of the State and prayed to God to grant Ododo success as he prepares to take over the leadership of the State from the incumbent, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ododo the winner of the Kogi governorship election held on Saturday, 11th November 2023 in the State.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Johnson Urame, who made the formal declaration on Sunday night said Ododo polled 446,237 votes to defeat Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who scored 259,052 votes and Sen. Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 46,362 votes.
