Members of the Boki Sons Association (BSA), Abuja, have paid a courtesy visit to the lawmaker representing Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency of Cross River State in the Green Chamber at the National Assembly.
According to a statement by Abang’s media assistant, Simon Abang, the Boki Sons were in the NASS office of the Honourable lawmaker to identify with him and express their joy over his “remarkable electoral victory”.
The delegation led by the association’s president, Mr. Memdel Bukie, presented Hon. Abang with “A meticulously crafted portrait, symbolizing collective admiration and support for his electoral triumph.
‘The large portrait, adorned with intricate details, served as a tangible representation of the collective pride and support the Boki Sons Association holds for Hon. Abang, fostering a stronger sense of unity and collaboration between elected officials and the communities they represent.”
The media assistant said: “During the event, the Boki Sons Association expressed appreciation for Hon. Abang’s dedicated service, particularly in facilitating mobile network access to over 35 rural Boki communities. These communities had lacked access to global communication networks (GSM) since its launch in Nigeria in 2001.”
Responding, Hon. Abang expressed gratitude to the Boki Sons for the visit, while affirming “his commitment to serving the interests of his constituents with diligence and dedication.”
“This courtesy call not only emphasized the strong bond between the Boki Sons Association and the Federal MP but also underscored the importance of community engagement and collaboration in fostering a thriving democratic society. The event serves as a positive example of how communities can actively participate in the political process, building meaningful relationships with their elected representatives,” the statement noted.
