More Roads To Be Constructed In Benue

Spread the news

The Government of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has indicated it’s readiness to construct roads across all the 23 local government areas of the state.

During a Thanksgiving Mass and reception in honour of the Governor in Tse Agberagba, Governor Alia stated that the road between Vandeikya-Korinya- Tse-Agberagba-Gungul-Awajir and Ge-Ikyobo-Agbeede-Anshagba-Iber roads will be amongst those the government will soon award for construction.

Asked about his developmental plans for the people of Jechira, the governor said, “Jechira plays a very vital role in the entire State. And since we have a map out for infrastructural and economic programmes for the state, Jechira cannot be left out at all.

“We announced out there, a connect between Vandeikya local government and Konshisha Local Government, and once the road connection is made, we are going to hit the other Local Government Areas including Gwer East, and parts of Ushongo Local Government.

“So two major roads will link up 4 local government areas (Vandeikya, Konshisha, Ushongo and then Gwer East). Primarily, that is what we intend to do. Major announcements will be coming within the next one month.”

On the developmental plans of the government for the other zones, including ‘Zone C’ governor Alia said “Yes, under one month, we are going to roll out the very major road infrastructure in the entire state. So it is not only the metropolitan or Makurdi that is going to enjoy all that. We have mapped out all the places. Like what I have announced out there is what is due for both these local government areas(Vandeikya-Konshisha and then part of Ushongo. So these three are already covered. So when we make the announcement, all the 23 local government areas are captured and that is the wayforward for all of us.”

Benue Shall be great again.
