Kogi State Auditor -General for Local Government, Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege popularly known as Fancy has reiterated that the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is irrevocably committed to the welfare of Kogi workers and other partners in the development of the state.

The Auditor-General who was addressing some like-minded people recently in Lokoja also emphasized that aside prompt payment of salaries, continued progressive works on the infrastructure and general wellbeing of the people, noted that security of lives and property which was bequeathed to this administration would never be toyed with for any reason.

“We are not celebrating prompt payment of salaries in full percent because that is the right of every worker who has diligently contributed to the development of Kogi State, but we’re celebrating the strategic heavy investment the administration has made in making sure that Kogi people are more secured to go about their normal daily routine unmolested.

“It is on this note that that the government calls on whoever has good ideas and constructive suggestions to bring them forward to the feet of the government instead of engaging in activities that could smear the image of of transparency, accountability and probity which our state has been awarded for in the past eight years”, he said.

While emphasizing that the government of Alhaji Ododo remains firmly unperturbed about discharging its campaign promises to the people despite distractions, the Auditor-General called on all the supporters of former Governor Yahaya Bello and the current administration of Governor Ododo to remain calm and be cautious of their public utterances so as not to emulate bitter political losers who are bent on giving the state a bad name.

Meanwhile, a political analyst, Mr Ugbede Johnson has lauded the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for being proactive in attending to the needs of the people.

He noted that despite court cases, Alhaji Ododo has been able to continue with the good legacies of the past administration of maintaining excellence in governance.

“Even though governance is not all about salary but prompt payment is one of the yardsticks we always use to judge a government that has human face and in this regards, Alhaji Ododo has been up and doing. Palliatives are being distributed regularly without discrimination and above all, over 150 security operational vehicles were distributed for community policing. To me, this is a sign of more good tidings to come in this administration”, he said.

Mr Ugbede who took a swipe at the detractors of the present administration said if Governor Zulum were the one that distributed security vehicles as recently done by the government of Alhaji Ododo, the Nigeria media space will be engulfed with the news of how he has been a messiah in his state.

“We need to live above petty and regressive considerations and applaud our past and present leaders”, he admonished.
