Excited by the level of statewide acceptance of candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of November 11th governorship election, the member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon Sanni Abdulraheem Egidi (SEA), has said that the duo of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) and Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu (JOS) are the most formidable and credible that any party desirous of victory can present.
Hon. Egidi made this known today in Lokoja while having an interactive session with the Fancy Media Team (FMT).
The lawmaker who marked a hundred fruitful days in office today said considering the private and public sector background of Alhaji Ododo and Comrade Oyibo respectfully, the requisite experience to move the Confluence State to an enviable height are already domiciled in them, adding that they are not like novice presented by some opposition parties that think Kogi State administration is a training ground.
Hon. Egidi said “The engine room of any administration is civil service and any the government that wants to succeed must listen to the heartbeat of workers. Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman has worked as a civil servant in the ministry of Power and Steel Development and we all know how sensitive is that sector to the existence of this country. He served there for several years before joining politics in 2016 where he became one of the valuable members of the State Executive Council before resigning to contest the APC governorship primary election.
“If you talk about the incoming Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, he has been a teacher and union leader. Who else can have more grassroots connection than a teacher who has been in the business of moulding the character of younger generation via imparration of knowledge?”
The lawmaker who itemized several projects that he has executed and motions sponsored within 100 days in office expressed optimism that Alhaji Ododo being a mentee of Governor Yahaya Bello, would not deviate from excellent performance template being set for them by the Governor. He added that both Alhaji Ododo and Comrade know exactly the collective aspirations and yearnings of the people of Kogi State.
Hon. Egidi who is the Director of Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the recently inaugurated Kogi State APC Governorship Campaign Council said he would work in partnership with other campaign Directorates to achieve desired goal for the party.
He revealed that before official inauguration of the state campaign council, he has been making contacts and wooing supports across party lines for his party, adding that such function has lead to decamping of many former opposition figures like Prince Haruna Ganaja, Architect Yomi Awoniyi, Hon. Momohjimoh Lawal, Hon. A. K Salihu and several others to the APC.
“The November 11th governorship election will be the easiest and stress-free one for the All Progressives Congress has ever won”, he predicted.
